Biography
Growing up in the culturally rich environment of Mbengwi, D-Klins also excelled in sports, showcasing remarkable talents in soccer, basketball, table tennis, high jump, and gymnastics. Despite his athletic prowess, it was the world of music that captured his heart fully. Though he left high school to pursue his passion, his commitment to music never wavered. He found early influences in the iconic performances of Michael Jackson, which shaped his style and stage presence.
In 2003, D-Klins formed the musical group the Innovators along with two others. They released their debut album, “Bottle Dance Hall,” in 2005, which made a notable impact on the local music scene. His first solo album, “Congo George,” released in 2010, featured the hit song of the same name and marked a pivotal moment in his career.
The road to success was not smooth, as D-Klins faced significant financial difficulties and personal challenges that led to a period of anxiety and depression. Yet, his resilience shone through when he released the single “Sawale” in 2018 and the “Reawakening EP” in 2019. The title track “Sawale” was particularly successful, leading to the production of an official music video that further elevated his profile.
In 2021, seeking new horizons and opportunities, D-Klins relocated to Norway. Since moving, he has been involved in various musical projects and gigs, continuing to enrich his artistry and reach.
